Probelm with Column Heading in Customer Select Choices

Problem:
When adding a new Customer Select Choices layout, a customer found that the Column headings were not displaying correctly, with some column headings being repeated. In addition, on some occasions the customer select display had random characters in some columns.
Solution:
Firstly, please note that ALL items that are not just simple field names MUST have an alias name ('as soemthingorother').
Secondly, make sure that there are NO trailing spaces at the end of the SQL statement for each item.
