To get Spanish accents in SM

Problem: for example, rather than getting 'Cornellà ' displayed, 'Cornell#' appears instead.
I believe the method if no accents appear in SM is to close Space Manager down and run C:\program files\borland\common files\bde\bdeadmin.exe
and change the language driver to 'Spanish ANSI' for;
configuration/drivers/native/Paradox
configuration/drivers/ODBC/SQL Server
configuration/drivers/ODBC/Adaptive server anywhere 7.0
