A Sybase database service will not autostart

If McAfee Small Business Total Protection is installed on the server, the Sybase service will not autostart on boot-up, but must be manually started once the boot is completed.
The error is:
Cannot initialize the requested communication links
The only solution at the moment is to completely un-install McAfee.
