Database Backup Works But The Database is Invalid (V2)

Hint Details:
Backing up the database with a version 7 dbbackup fails and the database is invalid. Updating to V8 and using the V8 dbbackup then connecting with a V2 client solved it.
Obvious Symptoms: The log file had been truncated to its usual 192kb but in the backup that was made it was 480kb!
